OUR DAILY BREAD CLARKSTON
Give us today our daily bread.
Matthew 6:11
Life moves fast—between full-time work, motherhood, marriage, and ministry, I found myself longing for moments of stillness, a chance to slow down and embrace the simple joys. Watching my boys explore the outdoors, tending to my garden, and caring for our chickens bring me deep joy, reminding me of the beauty in life’s everyday rhythms. I’m a bit of a paradox—an introverted extrovert who cherishes solitude yet thrives in community. But through all of life’s demands, one thing remains constant: my unwavering love for Jesus.
Then, in the midst of the busyness, sourdough found me. What started as a simple experiment in the kitchen became a daily practice of patience, creativity, and faith. The process of feeding the starter, kneading the dough, and waiting for it to rise mirrored something deeper—our own need to be nourished, strengthened, and transformed. Sourdough isn’t just about baking; it’s about embracing slowness, trusting the process, and finding joy in the waiting.
And that’s what scripture does for the soul. Just as sourdough requires daily care to thrive, our hearts need the daily nourishment of God’s Word. His truth sustains us, strengthens us, and fills us with life. Bread feeds the body, but scripture feeds the soul—offering peace in the chaos, stillness in the rush, and renewal in the everyday.
Now, I share this passion with others—through fresh-baked sourdough, scripture writing, and building a community that nourishes both body and soul. Because ultimately, my mission is simple: to point people to Jesus, the true Bread of Life.
